Does Your Dog Need An Energy Healer? How to Help Your Pet Realign and Refocus

Dog healer

If you practice meditation, Qigong, Tai Chi or yoga, you may have heard of energy healing techniques. These ancient practices have been used for thousands of years as a way of reconnecting the body and mind with the universe. Life happens and stress or hard times can disturb your body’s natural balance.

But what you may not know is that dogs and other pets and animals can benefit from a visit to an energy healer, too. Just like us, changes or stressors in their life can get their energy out of whack.

Read on and learn how to tell if your dog’s energy is off and what you can do about it.

What Is Life Energy

If you aren’t familiar with the ideas surrounding energy healing, that’s a good place to start before we get into practicing energy healing on your dog. In short, there is life energy in everything in the universe, from trees and rocks to you and, yes, even your dog. This energy is how we connect to the universe, our bodies, and our higher selves.

This energy flows in and through your body, as it does with everything else in the universe. But the energy flow can get blocked. Your body’s life energy is directed through energy pathways called meridians, and “hubs” called chakras.

How Is It Controlled

Chakras are subtle energy centers in the body. There are 7 main chakras and in yoga philosophy, are thought to govern all aspects of life. The chakras are positioned from the crown of the head to the base of the spine. Chakras govern your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

You may not be surprised to learn that dogs have chakras, too, which help direct the flow of life energy through their bodies. Humans have seven main chakras, starting at your tailbone with your root chakra, and working their way up to your head with your crown chakra. Dog’s chakras are also aligned in the same general area as humans.

Chakras open and close to allow various types of life energy to flow through the body and maintain balance. But when these chakras become disrupted because of negative energy (either internal or external), your body’s life energy can get out of balance. When this happens, you (or your dog) need to have your energy realigned.

How to Know When Your Dog Needs Realignment

For humans, knowing when our chakras need to be realigned is a fairly straightforward process. When we are tired or grouchy or just “off,” it can be a sign that our chakras are out of whack. But since your dog can’t tell you directly when they’re feeling “off,” knowing when they need realignment can be challenging.

Like in humans, dog’s behavior will start to change when their chakras get out of line. If you notice your dog acting irritable, lethargic, or odd in some other way, that can be a sign that their energy is misaligned. They may lick themselves more often than usual, seem more anxious in general, or stop eating.

The Basics of Realigning Your Pet’s Energy

So what is it you’re actually doing when you realign your dog’s life energy? In essence, your practice helps them to realign their chakras and release any negative energy they may be holding. Clearing those “clogs” will help them absorb the positive life energy they need and help their body naturally restore its energy balance.

Set the Energy for the Session

You’ll want to begin your pet’s energy realignment by setting the energy for the session. It’s best if you’re somewhere calm without a lot of distractions. Find some place, preferably in your house, where you and your dog can be comfortable and relaxed together.

Start by petting your dog or even just hovering your hands over them and focusing on your life energy and your love for them. Imagine a golden light coming from your heart down through your arms and out of the palm of your hands. Also, feel the tremendous love you have for your dog.

Begin the Energy Transference

Hover your hands a few inches over your dog’s fur and focus on channeling that loving energy through your hands and into your dog. Slowly move your hands over your dog, while visualizing a golden or white light radiating from your heart out your hands.

You may need to experiment with where you hold your hands over your dog. Focus on the energy radiating from them and try to follow any pull it may have. If your hands feel like they want to stop at a certain spot it may indicate an energy blockage.

Hold your hands over the point until it feels like the blockage has been released.

Knowing When Your Dog is Done

There is no time limit for how long or short an energy healing session should go. The length of the session depends on your and your dog’s needs. The important thing is to pay attention to your energies and when each of you feels you have had enough.

Your dog may get restless when it has gotten everything it needs from the energy healing session. It may get up and walk away or begin scratching or whining. Pay attention to these signs and don’t try to coerce your pet to stay for longer.

As for your needs, you will be more in tune with your energy levels and needs. If you find yourself starting to get tired or distracted, it may be time to stop the session. Once you ask yourself the question, “Have I done enough for this session?” you have, and it’s time to stop.

Close the session by imagining those beams of life energy light retracting back into you and your pet. Take a few deep breaths and bring your attention back to the body.

Finish the healing session by thanking your dog for sharing their life with you and for accepting the gift of your channeled healing energy. Mutual respect and affection will go a long way towards strengthening your bond for the next session.

Keep an eye on your dog for the next few days; you may need to repeat the session or give them a break for a day or two, depending on their behavior.

Listening to Your Pet’s Energy Needs

The more you practice paying attention to your dog’s energy needs, the better you will become at hearing when they are trying to communicate with you. Dogs, just like people, will tell you when something is wrong or they need some extra attention. You just have to learn to speak their language and listen to their needs.

As you become more attuned with your and your pet’s chakras, you may find that your ability to communicate with them increases. Some people have reported being able to speak with their pets via clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairsentience. It takes time, practice, and attention, so don’t rush yourself as you begin to develop this sensitivity.

For now, focus on watching your dog’s behavior and noticing changes that may indicate unhappiness or discomfort.

The ones we discussed earlier are good starting points, but don’t be afraid to branch out from there. If your gut is telling you that a change is significant, listen to that instinct and do what you can to help restore your pet to full health and happiness.
